BBQ Pork Spare Ribs

Who can resist a good BBQ Pork Ribs?

We have heard about it so many times from friends that have tried it and also a good recommendation from travel information website.  When we get to finger lickin’ it, we had it 2 days in a row.  It is seriously delicious; the meat is tender and juicy.  The cost for a plate of BBQ Pork Ribs is so much cheaper compare to Kuala Lumpur.

After having all the good food in Bali, we will need Lipofuze pill to lose weight.  We can’t resist good food although we are on diet.

Family Vacation: 11th May 2010 – 15th May 2010

Upon arrival into Bali airport, I was impressed by the runway that is by the sea, it is indeed very nice view.  Quickly I grab the camera to capture the wonderful memory.

Touch down at Ngurah Rai International Airport

Once the plane touch down and move slowly towards the main terminal, I was greeted with a run down airport metal buildings that seriously needed a thorough facelift. Anyway, despite the eyesore site, we are thankful that we arrived safely.

The immigration area is small but there are plenty of booths displaying brochures and maps. So while queuing we can browse through the brochures to get some travel information. In the immigration zone, we are not allowed to take photos or video. Beware of that!

After the immigration zone and out the main gate, you will see more than 10 money changer counter but the rate is low. If you need to rent a car, you can do so as there are a few car rentals counter too.

As for us, we already pre-booked the car and change the currency to Rupiah before we leave our home country.

Driving in Bali With A 4 Wheel Drive

Rented Car in Bali, Indonesia

Above is our rented car in Bali, Indonesia.  It is a simple 4 wheel drive Suzuki Jimny with Air-con.  Hubby is the driver throughout the 5 days Bali trip and after that he is phobia about driving.

Driving in Bali is not difficult especially if you can speak Bahasa and able to read the road sign.  The thing about driving in Bali that makes hubby going bonkers is the journey on the road.  The journey time is far, the road is small, up hill and down hill and the Bali atlas map that we got is not updated so at times we will miss the turning.

The rented car that we got is not really operating well, the engine will die when we up the hill, so will have to turn off the air-con and restart the car again.  The air-con is also not in good condition, sometime it release hot air!

So, this is the thing that hubby dislike while driving in Bali.  LOUSY CAR!!

The next time when we visit Bali again, we will rent a better car from a reliable car rental company that will provide good cars.  Exploring Bali on our own is sure fun & adventure but analyzing map is nuts when the roads are bumpy!

Despite all the tiredness, we are looking forward for the next family vacation.  I am dreaming about New Zealand that we can rent a motorhome to explore the island.  We sure will need to sign up for motorhome towing services for emergency usage.

The excitement is still there in me but I am not sure about hubby whether he still wants to drive while he is on vacation.

We are back from Bali, Indonesia

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

We are back from Bali on the 15th of May and the next day I was having fever.  Then I realised I am having chicken pox so went to the Specialist Clinic for a further check up.  According to doctor, I got the chicken pox virus about 14days ago; it could not be from Bali.  After all the explanation from doctor, he prescribed me a set of chicken pox medication that I need to take every hour.

Anyway, I thank God that I only got the fever when arrived home, not in the flight or in Bali though…if not I will be quarantine!

Today is the 4th day of having chicken pox and I can see recovery in progress.  Thanks to everyone that keep me in prayer for speedy recovery. Cheers!

I will share more of our Bali adventures with you bits by bits.  Stay tune!
