A day before, I called the resort reception for a late check out which is at 1pm than the usual time at 12noon. It is time to pack and go. Seriously, 4days 3nights in Langkawi is not enough. At least we need 5days 4nights to explore more of Langkawi island. 4days trip is just nice but not much time especially travelling with baby. Early in the morning I woke up and do a final packing before we go to the beach. While waiting for me, Naomi is relaxing and eating her favourite Japanese Children Rice Cracker.

vacation-21

We spend about 20 minute at the beach.  The sun is shining and it is super hot.  It was Naomi’s first time playing at the beach and splashing sea water.

vacation-22

The sea water is crystal clear.  Hubby managed to catch a crab and letting Naomi look at it and then let go the crab.  But Naomi was chasing after it to catch it back! Haahaa…

After check out from the resort at 1pm, we quickly drive to Kuah town (about 20 minutes) to shop at Teow Soon Huat duty free shop.   Teow Soon Huat Duty Free shop things is much cheaper than other place. But you must take note of the expiry date.  I bought plenty of Kit Kat dark chocolate (made in Switzerland), Hersheys (made in USA) and Toblerone (made in Switzerland).

Teow Soon Huat Duty Free address: Langkawi Parade, Pokok Asam, Langkawi Contact number: +604 966 7528

Our flight departure time is at 3.30pm and we arrived Langkawi airport at around 2.30pm.  We kind of rushing but we are not late and just on time.  Anyway the departure flight was delay again! Naomi is so tired and she slept through the flight from Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur.

vacation-25

Our little girl enjoy her holiday so much.  We do enjoy the holiday too. In the end of the trip hubby and I are so tired and I was not well for few days.  But then we really cherish this wonderful family vacation and looking forward for the next one.

Thank God for his protection and safe journey through out the whole trip.

Stephanie’s Note:
Overall experience with Air Asia, I would say “cheap airfare with cheap services”.  Upon arrival in LCCT Airport, it was raining and there are some umbrellas provided for the passengers.  No stewardess will be standing there helping to open the umbrella and it is not a one press button open umbrella.  So imagine if you are holding a baby…so inconvenience and inconsiderate of Air Asia. If travelling with baby or maybe a personal trip, I would advise to do the express check in online (skip the Q) and choose your seats.  Our returning seat number was number 31 not able to recline, so 1 hour journey is back aching!!

Berjaya Beach & Spa Resort is not a 5 star resort.  Maybe for their facilities they do consider 5 star but not 5 star accommodations.  The chalet is old and the price is not worth paying.  If ever we will return to Berjaya Resort, we will only choose to stay at their NEW water chalet for better interior and ambiance.

4 days trip to Langkawi is not enough especially travelling with baby.  I will say 5 days just nice to explore the place with extra time for baby to rest.

Buy your duty free chocolates at Teow Soon Huat coz is cheaper!

Since we are not able to visit Langkawi Oriental Village on Day 1, we finally make it on Day 3. The cable car ticket counter open at 10am so we were there early to skipped the Q. Using our MyKad, the cable car ticket price is RM15 instead of RM30. Reasonable!

vacation-121

The cable car from Langkawi Oriental Village bring us to the Skybridge.  From the Skybridge you get to view the magnificent view of the oceon, islands and awesome nature scenery.

vacation-13

Naomi did more than 100 steps!  She is so adventurous, she must have got her adventurous gene from her mummy. Heehee.

vacation-14

Have a stroll at the Skybridge.  Really great to be up there!  Naomi enjoys her walk on the Skybridge and saying “hi” to people that passing by. Mmmm…friendly Malaysian, eh…

vacation-15

On the way back to the base, Naomi needs milk so I breastfed her in the cable car! …mother nature.. ;)

vacation-16

After the tour around in the sky at the Skybridge, we drove out for lunch at May Hiang Seafood Restaurant which is located in Pantai Tengah.  They are famous for their BBQ Boneless Chicken Wing.  Well, after trying it…it is not that special and RM8 for a piece is definately not worth it.

Then we proceed our journey to Langkawi Bird Paradise Wildlife Park.  Naomi enjoy so much feeding the animal and touching it.  Well, not all animal we allow her to feed.  Coz wild animal bites! Need to be careful.

Dinner at Tapaz (Spanish restaurant) located at the beautiful and scenic Telaga Habour Park.

Tapaz Restaurant address:

Contact number: +6012 329 4094

**Tapaz Restaurant only accept CASH payment, NO Credit Card payment**

vacation-18

After a long day out and exploring around Langkawi island, then we went back to the resort to fresh up and rest.

At the chalet, the only Naomi’s toy is the telephone and water bottle.

Stephanie’s Note:

It is best to call the cable car ticket counter before you go, to ensure it is operating.

The Bird Paradise Wildlife Park brochure stated clearly on their brochure that we can visit the park rain or shine but the real stuff is, when it rain you do need umbrella when exploring the place.  When it rain, you do get wet!

Tapaz Restaurant only accept cash payment, if we have not read the menu carefully, we will not know about it. The waiter never care to explain.  And I think it is ridiculous that they only accept cash because most travellers will travel with credit card or debit card.

We woke up very early today to get ready to the cabel car that is in Langkawi Oriental Village.  Driving distance is less than 5 minutes because Oriental Village is very near to Berjaya Beach & Spa Resort.  Parking is FREE.

But then upon arrival the cable car operating hour was delayed.  At that time was 12.30pm, furthermore on Wednesday their operating hour is 12noon.  We could not wait because Naomi is tired and cranky so we decided to return back to Berjaya Resort to rest.

After Naomi afternoon nap, we then went to the swimming pool to have fun.

vacation-91

We meet up with Aida (my old time Raleigh friend) for dinner.  First day we tried local Thai food so now we go for local Chinese food.  Fat Mum Seafood Restaurant is well-known by the local and the food there is delicious and reasonable.

vacation-10

You must try Fat Mum’s homemade tofu and the best sotong goreng (fried calamari or fried squid) in Langkawi!

Fat Mum address:

Fat Mum Seafood Restaurant – PANTAI TENGAH
734, Jln Teluk Baru, Kg Tasik Anak,
07000 Langkawi

Contact: Raymond Chong – 012-489 1923

vacation-11

After dinner we say bye bye and hug hug to Aida because we will not be meeting her the next day and it will be the next trip till’ we see Aida and Wendy again.

Stephanie’s Note:

Must try Pandan Coconut drinks when you in Langkawi.  It is juicy and fragrant.  Drink it cold!

Best sotong goreng (fried squid or fried calamari) in Langkawi is at Fat Mum Seafood Restaurant.  All of Fat Mum’s cooking is home cooked food.

Air Asia flight was delay so we depart from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi at 12.20pm instead of 11.20am.  We reached Langkawi at 1.08pm.  While waiting for the luggage on the luggage belt, I went to the car rental booth to check it out the price.  Due to low season, price are very very competative.  All car rental companies are giving 50% discount on normal rate.

vacation-2

We went to Sea Hill car rental counter and got a superb cheap rate for Mazda 5.  RM290.00 for 4 days!

After we got the FREE LANGKAWI MAP and load all luggage into the car, we proceed to The Loaf  (Telaga Harbour Park) to get some delicious bread and pastry.

vacation-4

After a smooth and beautiful scenic drive, we finally arrived at Berjaya Beach & Spa Resort at aroud 3.15pm.  We check in and rest for a while before dinner.

vacation-5

Dinner time, we drove to Kuah town to meet my old time friend from Raleigh International where we serve as a venturer for environmental, adventures and community projects.  Currently Wendy and Aida working as Naturalist in Langkawi and I am a full time mummy! Hmmm…. (really miss those days…)

Click here to know more about Raleigh International

We went to the local Thai Seafood restaurant called ABC Thai Seafood.  The food is nice and cheap!  We had fish, prawn tom yum, mantis prawn, fried sotong, stir fry vege, a plate of fried noodle, rice and drinks.  Only RM76!

vacation-6

After that we drove back to Berjaya Resort, park the car at the visitor parking and hop on to the shuttle to our chalet.  Shower and rest.

vacation-7

Stephanie’s Note: Berjaya Beach & Spa Resort provides 5 star facilities but not 5 star chalet.  The interior is old, stained, cracked and no room safe deposit box.

The Loaf  Bakery and Bistro serves fresh breads and pastries and it is not cheap.  Expensive but worth to get a bite of it!

ABC Thai Seafood does serves nice seafood but not the tom yum.  Lousy tom yum.

Air Asia flight was delay during departure, delay for about an hour.

McDonald’s in LCCT Airport is disgusting with plenty of flies flying around, on the table and counter top, the floor…basically everywhere!
