Lantern & Mooncake under the moon

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Yesterday, is a very important day for the Chinese, it is the Mid-Autumn Festival.

What is Mid-Autumn Festival? Why people celebrate this festival?

Don’t ask me, I don’t know. But I do know that, this is the day to play lantern or get your lantern burnt.., eat moon cakes (my favourite is the nutty flavour) and most importantly is the food & family gathering!

We had a great family dinner yesterday but William’s brother Alex & family in Japan, sister Mei & family in Canada, they can’t join us. (surely their saliva drooling looking at the dishes)

Let me introduce you my handsome & energetic father-in-law…

We thank God for father’s blessed hands that he able to cook so much delicious food.

super-licious food

This dish is William’s favourite, Prawn with black sauce & curry leaves.

Family recipe Mint Dipper, is for steamed chicken.

William insist that I learn how to prepare the prawn dish. So I took some pictures and managed to write down the ingredients and method of cooking. The recipe shall be in My humble Kitchen soon.

Overall, we had a great time eating and chatting. Thumbs up for finger-lickin-good food!

Do you know the power of a prayer?

(Drop us your request into the response box)

When you are sick, you Pray

When your heart is broken, you Pray

When you lost someone, you Pray

When you need guidance & wisdom, you Pray

When you need to reconcile your relationship, you Pray

When your marriage needs help, you Pray

When you are lost and hopeless, you Pray

Prayer is a very powerful tool. God hears our prayer, does not matter small or big prayer, you do not need to be good in English to pray, you can pray in different languages & dialects.

Maybe you ask questions like…

How can I know God hears my prayers?

Psalm 145:18

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

- Our Father in heaven invites us to make prayer our first response; He always listens to those who are honest to him.

Why is prayer important?

Matthew 7:7-11

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

- There is more to prayer than just getting an answer.

- We will understand more of God’s grace through prayer.

- As we continue to ask, seek and knock, we also will have more understanding of ourselves and of God.

How will God respond to my prayers?

1 Peter 5:7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

If something bother us, talk to God, surely He is listening and will help you. Don’t give up.

So start now, pray for your neighbor, your aunties & uncles, parents, brother & sister, friends and also the homeless!

Do you have a prayer request?

We will pray for you, just drop us your request into the response box.

Its Sunday!

Woke up very early today so that we will not be late for church service. Changed and feed Angel before we leave the house. Reached church at about 10.15am. Phew! We are the first one to be in Worship Nursery. :) Not that I am racing with others but I am so glad that we are not late.

(In the morning I prayed that we will able to attend the whole service, hoping that Angel will be good & not cranky…thank God she is so obedience, and only after the service she cry for milk.)

Managed to take some pictures..

William, Me & Baby Angel

(at Worship Nursery)

My heart is full of joy to be able in our Lord’s house singing praises and dancing with my family. God’s love bring us closer to Him and His love never stop pouring out to us. When we pray and worship together, God’s love bind us together!

Joshua 24:15 >But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

A challenge for William

Friday, September 21st, 2007

My best buddy..my husband. at Nexus Karambunai

The past 4 days, William been taking care of baby especially at night because I was having fever, gastric and diarrhea. Need to care for Angel and me is not a easy task for him. A lot of sleepless night and needed to go to work the next day.

It is a big challenge for him, he is so tired and stressed and sometime he jokingly saying “I want to check in to hotel for 1 night”…poor him.

At times that he even wanted to sell Angel to his brother in Japan! Silly thoughts! (no worry, we wont do it, Angel is our precious!)

So stressful that while he is asleep, he is still thinking that Angel’s is in his arm. He will jump up and thought that he drops her. (hehehe..kinda funny for me…)

Of course, despite all the pressure, he is enjoying having Angel and me, he is glad to have this family and definately God’s love bring us together. (how do i know this?..he told me!)

Proverbs 24:3-4

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

Dear Father in heaven,

I thank you for this husband, I thank you that he is the household leader. I pray that when he is tired and stressed, You will give him comfort. When he is weak you will make him strong. When he is weary, You will give him rest. I pray that You will give him wisdom and strengthen his holy spirit and let your love over flow in him.

In Jesus name I pray and ask, Amen.
